WACOSA Seniors Collaborate with Award-Winning Artist on Mural Project

WACOSA’s talented seniors are partnering with award-winning artist Dan Mondloch for an exciting mural project. Over the past month, the seniors have been working closely with Dan, learning various art techniques and creating individual pieces that will be incorporated into a final mural. This collaborative artwork will be proudly displayed at the Whitney Senior Center in St. Cloud, MN.

Dan’s approach involves teaching WACOSA artists diverse techniques using acrylic paints and a variety of adaptive tools and equipment. Each participant creates multiple artworks, contributing to the richness and complexity of the final mural.

This isn’t the first time Dan has shared his expertise with WACOSA. He has previously collaborated on mural projects at WACOSA’s North, South, Sauk Centre, and 1st Avenue program sites. Beyond these projects, Dan has also provided art instruction to WACOSA staff, empowering them to create ongoing art opportunities for WACOSA clients.

WACOSA extends sincere gratitude to the Central Minnesota Arts Board, funder for this project, and Dan Mondloch for continued commitment to bringing art experiences to WACOSA and adults with disabilities. Stay tuned for updates and photos of the completed mural in the coming months!
