WACOSA’s Development & Communications Manager has an opening for an internship opportunity over the summer months. The intern will also be responsible for assisting with:
- Donor list development
- Researching grants
- Contacting donors
- Benefit Breakfast event planning
Along with WACOSA’s Development & Communications Manager, this intern will assist with carrying out the following tasks:
- Research prospective donors, including civic groups, businesses and individuals
- Sort and clean up excel spreadsheets for donor communications
- Research grant opportunities for the organization
- Contact donors as needed to thank them for their support
- Lead event planning committee to ensure successful benefit breakfast
- Recruit, train and retain planning committee members to accomplish event tasks
- Establish planning committee meeting dates, times and locations
- Lead and facilitate planning committee meetings
- Delegate responsibilities to planning committee members
- Assist where needed with various event planning efforts (this would depend on size of committee, roles and expertise of committee members, etc.)
- Monitor and coach planning committee member efforts to ensure tasks are completed and goals are met
- Act as informal spokesperson by promoting event and generating overall community presence
- Plan & lead day of event logistics
- At conclusion of event, hold wrap-up meeting for planning committee to assess event strengths and opportunities
- Train & support committee chair successor as needed
Requirements:
- Commitment to WACOSA’s mission
- Proficient at Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of local community (greater Saint Cloud and Sauk Centre area)
- Strong leadership, delegation and communication skills
- Strong time-management skills
- Significant leadership experience in various campus organizations, athletics, work or civic experience
