The Minnesota Disability Mural & Story Project is a collaborative arts activity to explore what “arts access” means as it relates to Minnesotans with disabilities. Arts access is achieved when people with and without disabilities have the same opportunity to experience the arts, whether they are audience members, artists, or patrons.

WACOSA was excited to host three workshops this summer where over 100 clients participated in the Mural Project.  Everyone who participated  was asked to create there own piece of visual art on individual 12” square masonite boards.  Each artist was exploring the question, “What does Arts Access mean to me,” using acrylic paint, collaged images, photographs and other materials.

The MN Disability Mural and Story Project Exhibit is being presented by the Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Center at Gallery Saint Germain October 2nd – October 12th. There is a reception October 10th from 6pm – 8pm, with an Artist Talk at 7pm. This event is free to the public. The Gallery Saint Germain is open Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 11:00am – 5:00pm, and Saturdays from 11:00am – 4:00pm.
